Introducing Literato
An applied research lab at the intersection of the liberal arts and technology.
Today we are introducing Literato, an applied research lab based in Brazil.
We believe the most useful technology is built where the liberal arts and engineering meet: where careful reading, clear writing and good judgment shape how intelligent systems are designed and used.
Why we exist
When people, machines and organizations work together, economies develop faster. We started Literato to help that happen in a way that is safe and good for society.
What we do
Our forward deployed engineers work inside companies' operations, build intelligent systems with the teams that do the work, and run them on the company's own infrastructure. We focus on inference engineering, local deployment and safety, so that knowledge stays with the people and organizations who create it.
Our beneficial deployment work starts with two areas: safety and economic mobility.
What comes next
We are starting small, with a few well-measured deployments, and we will publish what we learn here — results and mistakes alike.
